Confirmation Classes at LSUMC

Confirmation is a 13-week class for 7th to 12th grade students that introduces the basics of an authentic adult faith in Jesus Christ and teaches students what it means to be part of the Body of Christ in the context of the United Methodist denomination through fellowship, teaching, and small groups with adult mentors.

Confirmation is the time when a personal decision is made to confirm the vows of our baptism. At LSUMC, this happens as a group of students join together for a semester of exploring who Christ is, what it means to know Him through a life-long relationship.  Confirmation takes place in a ceremony of students publicly declaring their commitment to Christ and desire to become full adult members of our church family. Our prayer is that each student will commit to a real and personal faith; and that they will learn to cherish the rich heritage we have as United Methodists.  

Confirmation is not simply a class to take because every one else is. It is a step in a life-long journey of pursuing the depth of God?s love and making a vow to live in relationship with Him for the rest of your life! 

Confirmation classes are held on Sundays from noon to 2 pm. They are offered twice each year, in the fall and spring. Register for Confirmation online or by calling the Zion Office at (816) 524-4966 x38.
