Zion lets you, the student, do ministry too! We believe that if you have a growing, loving relationship with Jesus Christ, you will naturally want to serve!
There are lots of ways that you can be a Zion Student Leader, but it starts with you making the move!
Student Leader Application
Here's just a few of the ways you can serve in Zion:
Drama Team
Find yourself doing voices? Can you do an impression of a famous person, cartoon, or random joe? Here's your chance to put your talent in action! You can be a part of the Zion Drama Team. You'll act and make people laugh, while teaching important lessons at the same time! The drama team participates in weekend worship services, Wednesday night Livewire, Sunday School, and even for special events!
Music Team
Yes... we have a band. But it's made up of all the musicians we can find. Have a musical talent? Can you play the accordian or the Irish tin whistle?
Art Display
We have an art gallery located between the Fellowship Hall and the Zion Room - bring us your art for display! We'll be sure you get it back if you'll lend it to us for a while. We'll take everything... photography, drawings, paintings, clothes you design, sculpture, yarn balls, popsicle stick houses, paper mache globes, origami...
Tech Team
The Tech Team is responsible for running the sound, lights and media that we use during our activities. You'll be trained on all the intricacies of the equipment, and you'll know the story behind the funny videos we show!
Prayer Team
Do you have a special desire to go to God with the troubles and joys of the world? Do you want to help other students with creative ways to talk with God and receive His guidance? The Prayer Team members not only are spiritual warriors, they also maintain the Prayer Closet in Zion, a place where students can go for time with God and some special ways to experience His Presence.
Vacation Bible School Leader
In July, the elementary aged students at LSUMC have a week-long Bible School! Join our team of adults and students that lead VBS each year and be a part of the children's ministry!
Big Sister or Big Brother to Younger Students
Each year, new students come into Zion from childhood to the "teenage world". You've done that, so help a few others make the adjustment! As a Big Brother or Big Sister, you'll show them the ropes, be a friend in the big group, make them feel welcome, and love them like Jesus would.
